One last demo update before 2024 end.

TLDR; New update this Friday

Hello again! Yes, I couldn’t stick to my own hiatus. I had a lot on my mind.

First off, thank you to everyone who downloaded the demo! In just two months, I reached over 100 downloads, which I never thought would happen—I expected maybe a dozen people to show interest in what I do.

Second, I intend to go full steam ahead with pushing the game forward, but it didn’t feel right to leave the demo without fixing and polishing a few things that I’m more than aware of, and that have been personally bothering me. So, here’s what’s new:

  • Reworked lock-on system! No more locking on through walls or accidentally targeting things in your blind spots. The enemy or object now has to be unobstructed by the environment in order to be locked on. While this was only an issue in a few isolated cases in this peculiar demo, it won’t be a problem anymore!
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies to get confused if you were too high up in the air or behind a wall. Now, they will continue trying to find the best path to you if you’re out of their sight. This happened only in rare instances, but it could be frustrating (my apologies if it affected you in a mandatory combat arena).
  • Actual button prompts! This is a shout-out to gamepad players. I’ve also refactored the weapon sway code so it now looks correct when using a gamepad.
  • Fixed visual bugs mainly related to the muzzle flashes. They should display correctly with the next update.
  • Added gib sound effects to some enemies that were missing them.
  • New props! More specifically hologram signs that will give vague visual hint.
  • Bug fixes!
